STRING WORKSHOP
This semester the String Workshop will focus on the Pre-Orchestra Ensembles. Students will have the opportunity to work on pieces with several voices, Suzuki repertoire duets and learning to read music in single lines and in a score format. The emphasis is on fun, reinforcement of basics and playing an instrument with other students. The Workshop will prepare several ensemble pieces to perform on the final Evergreen Student Recital, May 26.
- String Workshop meets in the North Hollywood First United Methodist Church, 4832 Tujunga Ave. in Rooms 3/4 (adjacent to the south parking lot).
- There are eight Workshops scheduled each semester, usually every other week.
- Enrollment is with Evergreen Music Conservatory and the fee is $80.00.
- Students must have had one semester of private instruction on their instrument to participate and be able to perform Twinkle Theme and Variations.
- Students ages 5 and up are welcome.
- Workshop is held from 9:00am to 10:00am.
- Please arrive promptly by 8:50am to tune, warm-up and setup.

CHAMBER MUSIC WORKSHOP
Spring 2006
This semester the Chamber Music Workshop will focus on Mixed Ensembles.
Ensembles will be formed according to ability and experience. Each ensemble will work on several pieces during the semester. The 60 minute Workshop will be divided between rehearsal time- when groups will practice on their own and be coached by a teacher and masterclass time- when groups will meet together, perform for each other, be critiqued and coached. “Recital-ready” ensembles will perform on the final student recital, May 26, 2006 and several ensembles may be chosen to perform at a special recital for a local nursing home.
- The Workshop meets in the North Hollywood First United Methodist Church, 4832 Tujunga Ave. in Rooms 3/4 (adjacent to the south parking lot).

- Students must be taking private lessons on their instrument to participate (with an Evergreen teacher or a teacher of their choice)and be able to read music fluently. Previous ensemble experience is NOT necessary, just an enthusiatic, ready-to-learn attitude.
- Violin, viola, cello, piano, flute, guitar and other instruments welcome.
- Workshop is held from 10:00am to 11:00am. Please arrive promptly by 9:50am to tune, warm-up and setup.
- Students must bring: a pencil, a folding music stand, instrument.
