Suzuki Talent Education Method

The Suzuki Talent Education method of teaching a musical instrument was founded by Dr. Shinichi Suzuki. He discovered that children can learn to play an instrument through daily listening and practicing with the same ease that they learn to speak their native language. Parent participation during private lessons, daily practice and weekly workshops is a key element in the success of this fun and exciting program. Suzuki instruction is offered on violin, viola, and cello. Lessons may begin at the age of four. Concurrent enrollment in private lessons and workshops are mandatory.

Traditional Method

A traditional method is a way of saying that the the teaching method has been developed by the teacher and in some way is unique to the teacher. The teachers at Evergreen all have university diplomas and have many years experience with their instrument. The essential element of all good teaching is "Ability Development." A traditional method of teaching recognizes specific musical interests the student has, and presents the student with material they can progress with.
